In 2019, it finally came out in America for the Nintendo Switch, and it was called Trials of Mana. In 1995, SquareEnix made a sequel to it, but it was not released in America.until recently.
TRIALS OF MANA BOSSES SERIES
This series first became popular with the 1993 game Secret of Mana for Super Nintendo. That is the Seiken Densetsu series-or the Mana series, as it is known in the United States. Well, it produced another popular series with almost as many games. Not so much to put out the fire but just to increase DPS and kill it faster.Fans probably know SquareEnix for its Final Fantasy franchise. With the exception of not using the water saber effect in some way. To answer your question more simply, you did not miss anything as far as I can tell. You might find some debate on DL vs Arch but I think most of the community would say Archfiend is more difficult. If you were to add them then it would go Golems(for beginners), Zehnoa, Gova, Lich(no Turn Undead), Zable Fahr, Dragon Lord, Archfiend and the Black Rabite. The Final Bosses are generally not on the list because they are variable and treated as their own thing. Of that list (IMO), Gova gets left off in the remake because of the change in fight mechanics(no longer can be super difficult to hit because the AI has decided to be a troll) and Anise gets added. That list pretty much went like this: Golems(for beginners), Zehnoa, Gova, Zable Fahr and the Black Rabite. This is why you just need to burst them both down before they can get anything going because once they do its a slow death in the quicksand.įor those wondering why the list is notable, in the original there was a list of most difficult fights in the game.

These two have the ability to tax your actions to the point where eventually you will be caught in a loop and slowly bleed to death by a thousand cuts. THIS IS NOT TRUE FOR ZEHNOA AND ZABLE FAHR. This means that as a fight goes on you actually gain advantage. Even if they spawn adds, the mobs can not match your level of Action Economy. The main advantage that you have in all fights is that its 3v1. These two fights are all about killing the Boss ASAP before shit gets out of control. Zehnoa and Zable Fahr however are totally alien. They serve as a Stats/Gear/Knowledge check. The last two are basically just constant damage thrown at you with the attempts to actually 1-shot you. The fights that dont follow the typical pattern are Zehnoa, The Dark Benevodon Zable Fahr, The Black Rabite, and (new to the list) Anise. Fans of the original might recognize this list. Then they hit you with that one move that you choose to face tank in order to get some good damage in and your dead and forced to use one of those thousands of Cups of Wishes the game has been throwing at you left and right.Īll that said, there are certain fights that break this pattern. They want you to feel safe at that 70-80% Hp that you have because in other games that is enough to survive most anything a boss could throw at you with exceptions being late game challenges and the final boss. So most of the moves they throw out are only meant to tickle or annoy. Most bosses in RPGs focus on some form of Chip Damage leading up to a Kill Move or some other Mechanic that makes you choose between healing, damage, and some option C. So I was just commenting on YouTube about something mostly unrelated and I brought up how bosses work in this game because it is different from the Mainstream Bosses we have all been trained to fight in other RPGs. If I had access to the water spirit, I could have easily annihilated the boss using Angela.

It’s a bit frustrating that there is a boss that requires water attacks to defeat prior to acquiring the water spirit. The Switch version of the game has been pretty buggy so far. That being said, this boss is definitely overtuned and I wouldn’t be surprised if there is some sort of bug behind the scenes. If your best melee attacker has a multi target class skill, you should be able to maintain DPS on the boss and take care of nearby adds at the same time. Ignore your companions and the adds, they’ll only slow you down. If you stand really close to the boss, you can avoid most of the AoE attacks. Take control of your best melee attacker and exclusively attack Zehnoa, using the Poseiden Claws. Poseiden Claws cast Ice Saber on one character and water attacks disable the boss. Near the save point just before the boss fight, on the opposite wall there is a treasure chest with 3 Poseidon Claws. There is only one reliable way to beat “remake Zehnoa” in my personal experience. The SNES version of the boss fight is a simple “tank and spank” fight with minimal AoE mechanics.

The remake version of Zehnoa is way harder than the SNES version.
